The ONLY Thing I Can Teach about Writing.

TLDR: You just have to be on fire.

Recently, a friend of mine told me something ominous. She had a dream that I had died, and she had to receive a writing award on my behalf.

My reaction? “Oh good. They read my book.”

Over and over, I have thought about creating some kind of writing class. I facilitated a few. I have read about it, and heard how it’s the only way to take the next “step.”

Funnels…mailing lists…social media calendars…

Blah, blah, blah.

I can’t do any of that stuff. It’s not that I don’t know how. I just can’t be bothered. All my depression and anxiety just overwhelm me at the thought of making a social calendar.

Maybe it’s my PTSD impacting my ability to make plans. Maybe it’s just that…I don’t care. I’m not strategic in my writing. That’s probably not great. I admit that.

But it’s just true.

But if I had to teach one thing, the one thing that has brought me “success”, a phrase I use loosely because writing for 22 years and only making money in the last 3 isn’t something to brag about, it’s this:

Be on fire from the inside.
