Thank you for this. I have also noticed that older coders, when they eventually leave,depart with a wealth of knowledge about the product. Past attempts at features, why they failed. It’s good to enter projects with a fresh mind, but sometimes this is overrated. Older developers can help prevent the younger ones from making similar mistakes, or at least help iterate on past ideas. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a new developer suggest a feature that had been attempted years prior, but no one olds was around to let them know…and when there were, those older developers are seen as “downers.”
