My Unexpected PTSD Triggers
Trigger Warnings Won’t Help Me With These.
Doomsday Prepper Hero Types
I’m not talking about people with actual military or combat training: I’m talking about the kinds of people who watch zombie movies and, despite a life of relative safety, believe they would be the hero in a post-apocalyptic situation.
The arrogance is what triggers me — I just want to shake them and say, “Nobody knows how they’ll react in that situation until they face it. You can stockpile water and batteries, and still crap yourself if that day comes.”

Balloons
It’s the anticipation that plagues me more than the popping. Because at every bar, birthday party, retirement, wedding, or whatever it may be — Balloons will pop. They will be popped.
It’s just a matter of when.

Trigger Warnings
I suppose trigger warnings help some people, but personally, they trigger me.
When I go online, I expect to see things that may trigger me — And I usually leave Facebook groups that post triggering content, as well as avoid conversations/viewing videos on most social media.
