I was a moderator and it was like emptying the titanic with a spoon, even with those blocks in place. That's usually the crudest line of defense. Some photos and IP addresses get autobanned, even some credit cards. But automation is necessary bc mods burn out every 2-3 years. You cant see abuse every day for 8 hours and just casually do it all the time. Without automated moderation, basically everyone will be a moderator just for the internet to exist
