I think it’s more like, they want to be the responsible one and have a whimsical fairy creature as a girlfriend. A person who will never make any demands or have needs or have anyone else to cater to. They want a spontaneous woman bc that means she just goes along with whatever he wants. To me that’s the subtext of that.
