but seriously, congratulations! As a mixed kid I must say it was frustrating when my white parent didn’t acknowledge the racism I experienced, that I looked different. Hearing “we are all human” and “color doesn’t matter” was a nice sentiment to hear, but I often felt she wasn’t understanding my problems. Please be mindful that as much as you hate hearing these messages, she’s gonna hear things like this her whole life.
