Building the Mind-Body Connection
It’s not a wound. It’s a glorious, intentionally-constructed bridge.
First, you’re not healing the mind-body connection.
That word implies you’re damaged. And damaged things, even when healed, have scars. Have cracks.
You’re building the mind-body connection.
It is an entirely new structure. A new bridge.
Maybe you didn’t really build it when you were small. You opted to hide and read to get away from yelling. From danger. You froze and hid instead of building that bridge.
You dared not build a bridge that would strengthen you to such noise and fear. This was a good decision at the time.
Maybe you started building it, and then someone came and took some of your supplies. This was not your fault.
No matter why you did not build it before, you will build it now.
Bridges are so glorious. They require planning, effort, math, and beauty. How beautiful is it to walk across a bridge on a sunny day? To look across the water and see ships, friends, parks.
And when you are done building the bridge between your mind and your body, you, too, will play in the water, play with friends, enjoy walking your dog, smell the flowers…
